18-year-old Karen Scavotto (USA) clinched the Gold medal in the womenís individual event. Full results and photos are available on www.archery.org. This victory will give Scavotto confidence and she now has high hopes for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. She clinched the gold medal by beating Nulle Wiebke, GER 108-104 points. The bronze medal was won by Alexandra Fouace, FRA who defeated Janet Dykman, USA 107-99 points. Fouace had shot against Scavotto in the semi finals in an exciting match. The two archers were tied on 102 points, but whereas Fouace shot an 8 with her shoot off arrow, Scavotto shot a 9, which enabled her to proceed to the gold medal match.
